Robins AFB offers buyouts for 300 employees

NewsCentral Producer

Coinciding with the expected cuts from Sequestration, Robins Air Force Base is offering voluntary buyouts throughout their 15,000 civilian workers.

More than 800 Robins Air Force Base employees have applied for the buyouts, but only 300 will be accepted.

According to base spokesperson David Donato, the early retirement and separation incentives are not related to uncertainties surrounding the Air Force budget, but rather as a way to reshape the workforce.

Those accepted will get $25,000 and leave by April 30.
