Robbery suspects open fire at Macon Police

Shots rang out Monday night when three robbery suspects opened fire on Macon Police detectives.

Public Information Officer Jami Gaudet tells WGXA, officers were called around 7:00 p.m. to an armed robbery at 3061 Montpelier Avenue, where the men started shooting at the first investigators on the scene.

Gaudet says detectives shot back and chased after the suspects, catching two of the men.

22 year-old Antaveyo Clark, and 27 year-old Jarvis Childs were charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder and seven counts of armed robbery, according to a press release.

Gaudet says Clark has been arrested eight other times since 2008 and was most recently released from jail in May. Childs has been arrested 16 times since 2002 and was released from jail Oct. 1st.

Macon police are still looking for the third suspect, Rashad Akeem Williams.
