Milledgeville Police Catch Copper Wire Thief

Police Said More Arrests Are Pending

NewsCentral Staff

Milledgeville Police have arrested a man in connection with a rash of home burglaries in Baldwin County.

According to Major Reggie Hill with the Milledgeville Police Department, Barrett Milner Junior faces three counts of burglary for his alleged involvement in a dozen residential burglaries in Baldwin County.

Major Hill said investigators from both the city and the county had been working together on a rash of residential burglaries, in which the entire house was stripped of electrical wires.

“The would be crooks were taking the wire to a local recycling place, receiving monies for the stolen wiring,” said Major Hill. “Fortunately for us, new legislation has given us the edge on finding a good identity on the criminals. What we can definitely prove at the moment is that twelve homes received severe damage from these burglaries. Also, air conditioners were stripped of copper tubing at some of the residences.”

Authorities believe Milner didn't act alone.

Hill said the investigation continues and more arrests are pending.
