Accusations against a maintenance worker at the Barristers Hall Apartment Complex surfaced last week when WSB-TV interviewed Stephen McDaniel's mother, Glenda McDaniel. This week we learn the accused 'maintenance man' was arrested in May.

A resident at the complex who wished to remain anonymous says David Dorer became the "resident contact" last November and was fired at the end of May because he was not "not working up to standards."

He was living at the apartment complex and his last day was June 30th. Dorer will be a third year law student this upcoming semester.

According to an arrest report from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, David Dorer was arrested on May 21st and charged with obstruction as a misdemeanor.

The report says Dorer was riding as a passenger when the driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence on Georgia Avenue.

Dorer was also arrested after he continued to harass the sergeant conducting a license and sobriety checkpoint.

According to a court document, he was released from jail on bond and has a court date set for September.

Macon Police have not commented on Dorer's involvement in the Giddings murder case and they would not confirm if Dorer has been questioned.

The accusations against a maintenance worker at Barristers Hall Apartments first became known during an interview WSB-TV conducted with Stephen McDaniel's mother, Glenda McDaniel where Mrs. McDaniel told a reporter that a maintenance man killed Lauren and was framing her son. She said the maintenance man had keys to all the apartments.

Stephen McDaniel is currently charged with the murder of Lauren Giddings. Police say McDaniel was in possession of a key to the victim's apartment and a master key that opens all doors in the complex. They say a hacksaw found in a locked storage closet matched the victim's DNA and the packaging for that same hacksaw was found in McDaniel's apartment.

Police have not received all the results from evidence sent to the FBI. McDaniel's commitment hearing is scheduled for August 17th.
