Macon Man Hit In The Head With Asphalt During Armed Robbery

Macon Man Recovering From Injuries; Police Investigating

Macon Police said a man was robbed by two men armed with a gun and a piece of asphalt.

The armed robbery happened outside of the Oaks Apartments on Tredway Drive on Monday around 5 a.m. in Macon.
The victim told investigators he was sitting in his car before heading to work when two men approached him.
Police said one of the suspects had a gun while the other had a piece of asphalt.
Authorities said as the gunman demanded cash, the other suspect hit the victim in the head with the chunk of asphalt.
The two men ran off with a small amount of cash.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.
Macon Police are investigating the crime.
