Fort Valley State University hosts ribbon cutting for restored building

Two buildings on the campus of Fort Valley State University are back up and running after almost two years of restoration.
More than 30 members of the university's staff along with a few students were there for the history making ribbon cutting of Ohio Hall and the Miller Building.
Both buildings have been in need of repair for over 30 years and the schools leadership says they are excited to put the buildings back to use.
Dr. Julius Scipio the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fort Valley State University says, "So we are overjoyed that this building will now house an honors program so that it can return to the glory that it once held. It was once the center of activity in the campus and we want to make sure that it returns to that level of activity."
When the restoration projects began in 2011, designers had to update the buildings while preserving their historic values.
This fall 58 honor students with a grade point average of 3.0higher will be able to live in Ohio Hall when the semester begins.
