Former Mayor Jack Ellis Seeks Public Outcry for Murder Victim Shy’relle Daniels

Amber Jones

Jack Ellis hosted a press conference at Macon’s City Hall Friday morning to speak out against the lack of media coverage on the shooting of Shy’relle Daniels, 18, who was killed last week in her home.

Ellis believes that she should be remembered and her killer should found. He adds that just a year ago, when Mercer Law student went missing, much more effort was placed on finding her killer.

"And I think that this young lady deserves more of a public outcry if you will. We must speak out against this senseless murder, just as we were upset last year this time when a young law student was brutally murdered in our town." says Ellis.

Ellis is in the process of getting Clark Atlanta University, The College that Daniels had been accepted to, to charter a scholarship in her name.

Shy'relle death was the ninth death this year in Bibb County.
