Carjacking Suspect Arrested

Clinton Bourgeois

A suspect has been arrest in a carjacking and armed robbery that happened in Macon Sunday night.

Brandon Moore, 22, has been arrested and charged with armed robbery in the case. This is Moore's fifth arrest in Bibb County since 2007.

According to Macon Police, officers found Aniceto Baca, 34, walking in the road bleeding near Eisenhower Parkway and Second Street. Baca told police he was robbed and carjacked by Moore and an unidentified woman in north Macon.

According to police reports, Baca was leaving a friend's apartment on Riverside Drive when he was approached by Moore and a woman asking for a ride to get some drinks. Baca agreed to assist Moore and his friend, but noticed it was taking too long to get to their destination.

He said he turned into a cemetery off of Eisenhower Parkway where he tried to escape but Moore began beating him in the head and face and cut Baca across the hand with a pocket knife. Baca would eventually escape, but was approached by another male in a white Mercury Tracker who took his cell phone and drove away with Moore and the unidentified woman in his truck.

Less than one hour later, police received a tip reporting two people fitting suspects' description on Knott Street in a red pickup truck. The witness said the two got out of the truck and began putting items into a white car similar to one driven by the male who stole Baca's phone. Baca's truck was recovered at that location with a pocket knife lying on the ground outside the truck.

The whereabouts of the other two suspects are still unknown.
