Here’s something to consider. Would you choose public humiliation over time behind bars? One Bibb County mother did just that Monday morning, after pleading guilty to battery and making terrorist threats on a Bibb County school bus.

Natosha Freeman may be asking herself, How does a mother of six and grandmother of one find herself on the corner of Irving and Marion Avenues, holding a sign at 7:00 in the morning?

She’s there after pleading guilty to battery and making terroristic threats on a Bibb County bus.

Judge Howard Simms, Bibb County Superior Court Judge, gave her choice.

"Judges don't really give you a choice,” says Natosha Freeman. “I am just thankful that he gave me a choice instead of me going to jail."

Freeman could have gone to jail for four weekends or spend every morning this week wearing a sign, advertising her guilt.

When Natosh was asked, Do you really think you looked like a fool? She replied, "No ma'am ... I don't,"and she says with good reason. "Because she told me to kiss her heiney which was very disrespectful."

The victim was her cousin, a youngster that she said got out of line.
Since freeman's alleged spanking on the school bus, the family has attempted to mend fences.
"I have accepted her apologies, but I am just not going to deal with her anymore," she says.

She's wears her sign with a smile.
Her probation officers show up just to make sure she's following the letter of the law...

"Well I knew it was going to be some consequences behind it," says Freeman. She thinks that the five years of probation attached to the charge is a bit much, but for now she's doing fine with sentence. "I’m ok with it. Just for today."

At 8:32 Natosha heads off to work after serving out the first day of being a walking bulletin board against violence.

Natosha Freeman will have to wear that sign at the bus stop every day this week from 7 a-m until 8:30 a-m.
In addition to wearing the sign all week - freeman will also have to pay $32.00 a month until the end of her five year probation.
