Bibb County Board of Commissioners announces fire station 109's groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning.

The station, built by Harmon Construction, is the first SPLOST project in 2012 used to expand development and promote safety for the community.

Bibb County Commissioner Chairman Sam Hart explains why he is eager for the completion of station 109.
Samuel F. Hart, Sr., the Chairman of Bibb County Board of Commissioners, says “This is the first SPLOST project and when we put that out there, one of the things that help sell the SPLOST, is the fact that we would be expanding the fire station and providing a broader safety coverage for our citizens.”

Hart adds that fire station 109 will be a great addition to the community, meaning fewer fires and more lives saved.
