Baldwin County Halloween Morning Murder

What may have seemed like a Halloween prank quickly turned into a murder case for the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. A man was found dead in a neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

A Milledgeville mother was taking her children to school when she made a horrific discovery.


Here’s her call that got deputies into action. "I am calling to report that, and this is not a joke that that is on like the side of my street,” says the 911 caller frantically.


That was the 911 call that got Baldwin County Sheriff's ’s department headed in the direction of Treanor drive.

The call continues as the dispatcher asks, "You said it's a dead man on the side of the street?” The caller responds, “Yes! I saw something on the side of the street when I took my kids to school."

Authorities arrived on the scene at 7:50 a.m. to find a black male murdered from what appeared to be two gun shots wounds and dumped in a ditch on the side of Treanor Drive.


"It appeared to be a robbery," believes Bill Massee the Baldwin County Sheriff. Very few details surrounding the case have been made available but we do know that the he was found with nothing in his pockets and no identification."

Sheriff Massee continues, "(he) Had no telephone had no jewelry had no identification on he and one pocket was pulled out." Without identification and clues. Sheriff Massee called the National Crime Information Center."We have since compared finger prints by computer examination and have identified him as individual out of Covington Georgia. “

The victim’s name won't be released until his family in notified.
Sheriff Masses says that his team is working to make sure that they catch the person involved in this murder.
