If you're in the spirit of giving this holiday season, you can participate in the "Georgia Gives Day."
The Community Foundation of Central Georgia is encouraging you to help out during the holidays.
The group is participating in a statewide initiative that's promoting Georgia Gives Day.
Georgia Gives Day is Thursday, December 6, 2013.
For 24 hours, you're asked to make a donation to your favorite local non profit.
Julie Wood, Community Foundation of Central Georgia's Director, said, the money raised will go directly to the non profits.
""If an individual logs onto the website, and makes a contribution to support Historic Macon Foundation, the money will go directly into their bank account," said Wood. "So, the goal is to raise as much money as possible."
Your contribution could help one of the 87 Middle Georgia non profits registered for Georgia Gives Day.
There are about 1,000 non profit groups across the state participating in Georgia Gives Day.
You can go to gagivesday.org to make a donation.
