Rick Devens anchors WGXA Morning News and can be seen weekdays from 5:30 am. to 7 a.m. on ABC16 and from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on FOX24.
An Army brat, Rick grew up all over the United States including our nations capitol Washington D.C. and Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. Rick came to Macon from Blacksburg, Virginia, where he graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in creative writing. While attending Virginia Tech, Rick landed his first television job as a tape editor at WSLS in Roanoke, VA.
After graduating in 2006, Rick accepted a job as a commercial producer at WGXA, the start of a beautiful relationship with the station and Middle Georgia. Rick began reporting for the Midnight Blitz and eventually served as a promotions producer, weekend sports anchor, news reporter, and sports director before finding his spot on the WGXA Morning News.
While in Macon, Rick met a lovely girl from Hawkinsville named Becca. They fell in love, got married and want to raise a family in Middle Georgia. Rick currently lives in Macon with his wife, two dogs (Hobbes and Heidi), and cat (Calvin).
In his free time Rick likes to hike and watch sports with Becca and the dogs. He is a diehard Redskins and Hokies fan but also pulls for local favorites, the Falcons and UGA.
